Dubai Tourism official  visit Port Sultan Qaboos Cruise Terminal

 In line with the joint cooperation initiatives to develop and boost the cruise and passenger ships tourism in Oman, Mr. Saud Bin Ahmed Al Nahari C.E.O of Port Services Corporation, Port Sultan Qaboos meets at his office on Thursday the 3rd of January 2008, Mr. Awadh Saeer Alketbi, Executive Director of Dubai Convention Bureau at the Department of Tourism and Commerce Marketing, Govern ate of Dubai. They discussed during the meeting latest developments in cruise tourism and supporting facilities essential for cruise operation at the newly built state of art Cruise Terminal at Port Sultan Qaboos.  Mr. Awadh Saeer Alketbi was then given a brief tour to the cruise terminal facility which will be inaugurated at Port Sultan Qaboos during the first quarter of this year 2008. Thus, the port will start a new phase of modern and new Cruise facilities that’s efficient and geared to handle the passenger cruisers and tourists coming to Oman .

 

 

 

 PORT SULTAN QABOOS PURCHASES NEW EQUIPMENT

 Port Services Corporation continuous strives towards upgrading the quality of its operation handling equipments at Port Sultan Qaboos. Mr. Saud Bin Ahmed Al Nahari, C.E.O has signed recently four contracts to purchase equipment for Port Sultan Qaboos at Port service Head office, Jibroo. 

The first contract was signed with Messrs. Arab ia n Car Marketing Co. (LLC), for the supply and commissioning of 1 nos. Kalmar Diesel Reach Stacker with capacity of 45 ton for the container terminal at a total value of R.O.209, 196.480 .The second contract was signed with Messrs. Arab ia n Engineering Services Co. LLC for the supply and commissioning of 1 nos. Mobile Crane with capacity of 70 ton for the Container terminal yard at a total value of R.O.154, 864.000. The third contract was signed with Messrs. General Electronics & Trading Co. LLC for the supply and commissioning of 1 nos. Ferrari Ro-Ro tractor for the Container terminal yard at a total value of R.O.65, 425.000. The Fourth contract was signed with Messrs. Saud Bahwan Projects & Equipment Co. LLC for the supply and commissioning of 2 nos. Komatsu Crane with capacity of 5.5 ton for the Container terminal yard at a total value of R.O.43, 211.182.

 

The above equipment is being acquired by Port Services Corporation as part of its continuous endeavor towards improving the services to its customers through optimum efficiency and increased productivity thus facilitating trade and p la ying a significant role in developing the Sultanate’s economy.  

 

 

 

VEHICLE HANDLED AT PSQ

Port Services Corporation (PORT SULTAN QABOOS) received over 6200 units of vehicles in a span of 5 days from the 14th to 18th of June 2007. This big number of units which is considered to be first time record arrived on 7 mega RO-RO car carrier belonging to various leading car importers in the country.

Port Services Corporation has devised and exerted an effective operation plans in co-ordination with importing companies and port officials to ensure smooth and efficient turn around of these mega ships.  

 

 

 

 

COMPLETION OF PSQ MAIN GATE PROJECT

 Port Services Corporation SAOG (Port Sultan Qaboos) announces the completion of PSQ Main Gate Project.  The Traffic Entrance & Exit through the gate will be allowed w.e.f Saturday 3rd February 2007 .

The Corporation Management takes this opportunity to thank His Majesty’s Government namely Ministry of Transport & Communications for financing and executing this project satisfactorily.  The Management’s thanks are also due to ROP (Directorate General of Customs & Coast Guard) and all the Shipping Agents, Transport & Forwarding companies and all re la ted Government and Private authorities for their co-operation during the construction period.

 

 

 

 

 

HEAVY LIFT FOR PDO - KAUTHER PROJECT ARRIVES AT PORT SULTAN QABOOS

Port Services Corporation (SAOG) has recently handled, coordinated and supervised the arrival of Vaporiser Unit for the PDO – Kauther Project at Port Sultan Qaboos.  The cargo was handled in the best, safe and secured standards in co-ordination with M/s.
