Sultan Qaboos, on

brass band of Royal Navy of Oman struck up a rousing welco

tune as the magnificent ocean liner sailed into Port Sultan
Qaboos. Underscoring the importance of the visit, a high-level

er, Minister of Tourism and Shaikh Moham

d bin Abdullah al Harthy Minister of Transport and
Communications, boarded the QE2 to greet the captain and crew.
The
ship which has LOA of 963 feet with 13 passenger level decks
is arriving from Dubai and will be proceeding to Salalah Port
as the next Port of call and from there to Jordan on the next
leg for her Mediterranean cruise.
During
their visit the passengers took advantage of this one day stay
and explore the
Oman
heritage, culture and beautiful landscapes with the leading

Executive President Mr. Saud Bin Ahmed Al Nahari attended the Maersk
Sealand felicitation ceremony hosted in honour of the
support, loyalty and commitment received from the company's
customers in the Sultanate. The chief guest was Reem Zawawi,
one of the directors on the board of Maersk Shipping Services
LLC.
Maersk
UAE, Oman and Qatar Managing Director - Poonam Datta, said
that 2004 was another record breaking year for the company.

II” luxurious cruise liner, called on its maiden voyage, to
Port Sultan Qaboos, on 16.03.2005 the vessel belongs to SWAN
HELLENIC CRUISES arrived with 554 visitors of European
Nationality.
“Minerva
II” is a traditional style of cruise ship, which is
well-constructed modern vessel with a well-balanced profile.
The Vessel “Minerva II” has a LOA of 180 with 9 passenger
level decks.
The
ship has a total capacity for 684 passengers, which are
serviced by 317 numbers of International Crew. The ship
is fitted with 362 cabins which have modern and the State of

“CS Seven Seas Voyager”, prominent cruise liner, called to
Port Sultan Qaboos, on
26th March 2005
. The vessel arrived with 722 visitors of American & European
Nationality serviced by 442 crew member on board.
The
Vessel “CS Seven Seas Voyager” has a LOA of 207 meters and 7.1
meters draft with a total of 12 decks. The ship is arriving from
Dubai (U.A.E) and will be proceeding to Salalah as the next Port
of call and from there to Safaga (
Egypt
).
Keeping
in view the rich heritage, the renowned Hospitality, and the broad
Culture and history of
Oman
, tourist on board were very keen on visiting the tourist
attraction areas. This was made possible by Al Zahra tours who
handled the ground tours to various sites in the city of
Muscat
and nearby sites in the Batina region.

Services Corporation join the nation celebrations of the Oman
National Football team achievement in the 17th Gulf Cup
It
was a wind-fall for the history-making of Oman football team,
who finished worthy runner-up in recently concluded 17th
Arabian Gulf Cup Football Tournament in Doha. Oman's private
sector came to the fore to offer rich rewards to the entire
football team during special function organised jointly with
the Ministery of Sports Affairs as the Sultan Qaboos Sports
Complex in Bausher.
